    ABOUT

Paws Outdoors is a dog facility with a difference!  We offer a 'structured socialisation session' as opposed to a free for all daycare environment.  This means that dogs who come to us are taught how to behave appropriately within a group environment.  This helps less confident dogs feel comfortable, as well as teaching more boisterous dogs what is and what is not appropriate.  We incorporate a lot of structure into our days with basic training (sit/stay/rest times/walks/outings), but also have time where the dogs are free to play with each other and catch up with their friends.  All interactions are carefully managed and watched to ensure all the dogs are comfortable.

All dogs benefit from structure and boundaries.  At Paws Outdoors we place great value on encouraging the use of your dog's brain throughout the day.  We do this by incorporating lots of basic training.  One of the activities all the dogs participate in is a pack walk.  Pack walking gives all dogs a chance to hang out in a low energy setting.  It helps dog learn to control their impulses, as well as teaching dogs that being around other dogs doesn't have to always mean high energy.  All dogs are trained to walk well in a group.  The pack walks are primarily on lead, but there are off lead opportunities for dogs once they have learnt the basics and can show reliability and good listening skills (this is for the safety of each and every dog).

Dogs are transported to and from our facility via individual crates in the van.

Your dog will return home content after having a well structured and organised day.

Structured Socialisation Sessions

Your dog gets collected from your home (or other prearranged point) and travels to our base in individual custom made crates in the van.  We spend the day as a team, practising basic skills, going for pack walks, experiencing farm life, hanging with friends, resting and having fun!

Our walks are all about stimulating the mind and body.  Dogs walk together and learn to control themselves around each other.  These walks start by being on lead, and once dogs have learnt the basics well and can demonstrate reliable focus and listening skills they begin to have some off leash freedoms (however this is not guaranteed and highly depends on the dog's behaviour/skills).  It is a process for all dogs and it is done this way to ensure the safety of your dog.

Our groups for daycare are small (max 10 dogs per day) to ensure your dog gets the attention they deserve.  Paws Outdoors isn't 'just another daycare' - it provides a safe, structured, fun, learning environment for dogs.

 $60/day (excl GST).

Discounts available for multiple days booked.

Please note:  All dogs are met prior to enrolment being taken.  This is to assess suitability for our programme/environment.  One on one sessions will be required before your dog is added to a full day group.
